How does a hybrid car work? What would I have to do if I had one, to keep it running? ?

I guess it needs to be charged…doesn’t that use a lot of electricity?
What are the cars that use alternate fuels? I’m confused about all of it.

A hybrid is simply a cross between a conventional combustine engine and, most often, electricity. Electricity is generated by friction produced while breaking and, if the battery is low then the engine can actually generate electricity to charge the batteries. Typical hybrids like the Honda Civic and Toyota Prius do not charge through an electrical outlet, i.e. you don not have to plug them in. All you have to do to keep it running is treat it like any other car, add fuel and oil and you’re on your way to saving money on gas!
